Cheers mate. Best place is down the approach lights at 05L, you'll need 400mm+ and it's best when during the winter months as there's less heat haze.

Here's a few more..

Hi Martin :thumb:

Nice selection of images for sure, in particular the BMI A319 on climb-out with the Etihad A330 in the background - very well caught :thumb:

Kind regards.

Marcus.

Hi Martin, can I ask where's the best place to park for viewing the end of the 05L runway............I normally park next to the Holiday Inn hotel off the A538 when viewing the south side. Can you walk from there?

cheers :)

You can park there, it's a fair old walk, mind!

Cross the dual carriageway and head up the steps, walk round the back and up the side of the fire station, head down to the river and cross the bridge turning right to go through the tunnel under the runway. Head up the hill and follow the path round to a sharp right turn where there's a gate, go through this gate and the next one which is 50 metres or so ahead, turn left and you should come to a T-junction of sorts, it's a sharp right there (almost coming back on yourself) and the lights are there after 100 metres or so.

Cheers,
Martin
