SPOTM July 2021 - aircraft based on a former Soviet bloc design

I'm starting this early this month as I'm going to be away for a few days and I may not have decent internet access. That may also affect my ability to post the SPOTM poll for the June competition so please be patient. The June comp will still close tomorrow at 23.59 whether or not I am able to lock it (although Mike will probably do that for me if I ask him nicely :D )

This is the SPOTM (Special Photo Of The Month) competition for July 2021 and the subject is ANY civilian registered aircraft which are based on a soviet bloc era design.

The subject of your entry should be a photo of one or more civil registered aircraft based on a soviet bloc era (i.e. pre 1990) design - let's see some old classics from the east!

Photography Competition Rules :-

1. Only one entry per user, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, please state so on your entry..

2. The photo may have been taken on any date, it does not have to be taken in the month of the competition

3. The image can be photo-shopped to some extent, levels changes, cropping, sharpening etc. are all acceptable. The photograph must retain it’s initial subject though, don’t make it something it’s not. HDR images are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please PM a moderator.

4. The competition will remain open until 23.59 (UK time) on the 7th August 2021 - please note new extended closing date to enable anyone with a last minute entry some breathing space.

5. Voting will be conducted by a poll open to all the membership shortly after the closure of the competition.

6. 'Rule 6...' There's no rule 6 Bruce'

7. The decision of the moderating team is final.

8. All images must be posted in line with the usual CA posting rules (size etc.), please read them if you're not sure how to post.

9. The rules may be subject to change, and these will be posted on this thread.

10. Please also embed the images and not links to images, if you're not sure how to do it then shout up and someone will sort it out. It is permissible to change your entry before the closing date.

11. Do not comment on other member's photos.

12. A brief description of where and when the image was taken would be nice too.

If you have any questions please PM me (but note the opening comment in that I may not have internet access for the next few days)
Andy

I'll throw this one in, could be clearer. Aeroflot IL62 at LHR 1978. (My LOT IL62 is a better shot but has a Luftwaffe Jetstar in the foreground...)

As the Olympics are about to start here's an (almost) appropriate one from me, this was taken at Stansted on August 2nd 2012 this IL.62 was one of 3 that brought Russian dignitaries (how times change) and athletes to the London Olympics, it and another departed on an exceptional evening at Stansted which also included a Russian IL-76 and IL.96 as well as a Slovak Tu.154 all within an hour or so of each other!! I think 'spoilt for choice' was an understatement!!

Antonov An-24V (LZ-ANL) last in service with Balkan (Bulgarian Airlines) and withdrawn from service in 1999. Initially delivered new to Interflug, former East Germany, in 1966. Picture taken in 2014 outside Burgas airport, Bulgaria, where it forms part of the Bulgarian Aviation Expo. Preservation has since been improved.
