I've now put together a calendar of topics for the 2025 SPOTM competitions, I hope there is something to suit everybody.
Please read the rules before entering, everything must be civil registered or retired.

January: a photo taken in 2024 which has not WON either POTM or SPOTM - sadly some competitions were poorly supported so we didn't list 1st 2nd and 3rd, so unlike previous years only photos placed 1st are excluded.

February: Airliners registered in Ireland (i.e. EI-***) lots of leasing companies use EI- prefixes so there should be plenty of choice for this one

March : this month it's a family of light GA aircraft, the PA-28 series

April: Boeing narrow body airliners (including narrow fuselaged BBJs) so no 747s, 767s, 777s or 787s

May: an aircraft undergoing re-furbishment, maintenance or servicing and must at least have panels removed - but panels removed does NOT mean an aircraft in the process of scrapping

June: Any US civil registered aircraft, airworthy or preserved

July: Planes and boats and trains etc, i.e. an aircraft photo which also includes another mode of transport in it, excluding ground handling equipment

August: Bombardier biz jets, any example from the Global Express series

September: An aircraft registered in South America - the boundary for this will be the northern border of Columbia i.e. with Panama so Columbia is acceptable but Panama is not

October: a displaying aircraft from a 2024 airshow

November: To celebrate St Andrew's day - aircraft in blue and white liveries, any civilian aircraft but it must be predominately blue and white

December: December 2025 is the 90th anniversary of The DC.3's first flight so any civilian registered DC.3 or C.47

Nice selection. Checking through my archive I can throw entries in for 7 of these. Not great quality but it's taking part that counts - right?
