A very nice set Tomo, I do like that head shot of the Delta, and the side view Virgin

Very Nice, The alligent/Thomson is nice. I finish work in an hour, so will drive up for an hour for some more 'night' shots before heading home.
Anyone know if BYAH has gone out on service, or is it parked up somewhere?
What camera equipment and setting do you use?
gary

BYAH went into the engine test bay for about 40 mins then was towed back to opposite T2. I use a Nikon D300 with a Tamron 70-300mm. I usually set everything to auto as I do not know that much about settings, but today I was playing with aperture settings and hoping for the best.

Very nice shots mate - I have started to go up to Man recently as its a great place to practice as you can virtually take your pick of locations - either taxying, take-offs or landings. Some really useful help given to me on this forum - people always glad to pass on their knowledge and experience.
I used to always go fully auto for flying shots but hardly ever do now. For props I use Tv (Shutter priority) usually set at 1/125 or 1/250th for a bit of prop blur, and for Jets I use Av (Aperture mode) and try and keep around the 1/1000th mark. This means that I can just easily swap between Tv and Av modes depending on what I'm shooting. I also use continuous focusing AI Servo, Daylight White Balance and Centre metering - seems to work for me. Sometimes for a static or very slow moving ground shots I will pop it back onto Auto which has the Focus Lock rather than the continuous tracking that I've set up on Tv and Av modes.
Also try and get an older version (look on E-Bay or Amazon) of Photoshop as you can just tweak things up afterwards - sharpen, contrast etc.
Main thing is take as many shots as you can and try and see which ones come out best and remember the settings - gradually the bad shots will get fewer and fewer (there will always be the odd bad shot that you just cannot explain, but thats half the fun!)

Thanks for that I'm learning all the time. Yes Manchester is a great place, but I'm going on the T.A.S day trip to Heathrow on the 26th so hope to get some more practice down there.

some very good shots there Tomo, i love it on the bank overlooking the threshold of 23L it is one of my favourite spots at Manchester for photos
I cant wait for the lighter mornings so I can get out on the bank at around 7.00am it is the best part of the day at man when the are taking off on 23L and can be very busy movements wise
