Visited friends in San Diego last month - not a photography trip as such - but still managed to point the camera at, or out of a couple of aeroplanes.

May I ask which hotel you used in San Diego am due to visit next April and those shots look great

Sure - I was at The Best Western Plus Bayside Inn (555 West Ash St)
Those shots were taken with a 400mm zoom but if you are looking for aviation shots you can get closer - there are some San Diego spotter guides knocking about on the net.
