Yesterday's EU / Africa Summit in Malta brought some exotic visitors. I hope the Mods don't mind but some of the biz-jets have military serials and saves a seperate thread (Can I get away with that )

superb set, the first one is a cracker, the 727 is rather nice too BUT that 707!!!!!! I'd forgotten how good they look. I wish someone would give it's paintwork a bit of TLC though

WoW Silkman ! As Andy said what a superb collection and only one of them painted at Norwich ! Where is the 707 from ? looks like a visit to the spray shop is overdue .... but so nice to see !!

Fabulous selection of aircraft, especially the 727. The Tu154 is of course great to see, but that's rather more common in Europe than many of these African government a/c. I presume the 707 is in storage or withdrawn from use at Malta rather than having flown in for the summit?

Thanks for the comments chaps. The 707 is actually a 720 (N720JR) and has been here since 2004 and not been touched since the owners disappeared. Seeing the abandoned 720 brings back memories of my first visit to RAF Luqa in 1971, when a Constellation wearing the false reg of 5T-TAF dominated the pan. The same day all 3 aircraft on the Maltese register were also present. Nostalgia (isn't what it used to be!)

Great set, no hassle ? I know a lot of locals where having problems on the outside

I heard Paul. I think it was a case of 'over zealous Plod' seeing as they don't do much here and then all of a sudden they have to be important The Military were 'policing' airside and by politely asking them and giving them bottles of water, I had no problems.

Jump on a plane at the end of the month as we have CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) and no doubt we'll get spoilt again

Very true Rugbyref. The Connie was sadly destroyed by fire many years ago but one of it's engines was salvaged and is displayed at the spotters balcony opposite the terminal.

These Africans really need to stop getting such nice shiny new aircraft

Very nice set, again, if I'd known this was on I'd have certainly looked at a trip!

This and the UN Summit in New York are the two main ones on my list.
