One of the reasons that I gave up spotting was because of the lack of wonderful machines like these.

I was on a 727 bus from Gatwick to Heathrow one Sunday evening when Radio 1 announced that "School's out" by Alice Cooper was the new number 1.

many years ago we were on a TAS spotting trip, heading for London at some ungodly hour and most people were snoozing away. The sun just started to rise and the Bostock's coach driver had the radio turned down, so as to give a little background sound. It was then that I heard the lines;

2-4-6-8 ain't never too late
Me and my radio truckin' on thru the night
3-5-7-9 on a little white line
Motorway sun coming up with the morning light

Ever since that day, if I'm traveling and I see the dawn, I instantly think of Tom Robinson's tune!

That angle of the Laker Boeing 707 really does emphasise the short size of the -138B version... they were even shorter than the 720!

Dont you miss all that noise and engine smoke!!! the cv990 was a real smoker,what would all the tree huggers say!!
A little before my spotting days ( i started in 76) but still cv990 b707 comets bac 111 dc8 ect still flying then can still hear and smell them now,,great just great,,,
